India is a country of diversity, the diverse culture, the diverse climate, the diverse elevations, the diverse religions, the diversity of divinity and the diverse followings, the diverse ecosystems, the diverse biodiversity, all but there is a unity in diversity which is the unique feature of the country.

In the present context, my focus is only on diverse religions and diverse followings.

Barring some exceptions, that’s always there, all the religious communities have their faith in at least one divine power, in the name of God, Jesus, Allah or Guru Nanak, before whom they bow their heads, whenever, happy, sad, normally or whenever they want something extraordinary favour or when they are in any trouble they they remember their respective Gods for the succour. And when their wishes are fulfilled they develop a kind of some more faith or at least till their next problem, they often sometimes forget their Gods also.

Whatever, my current focus is again being zeroed down to the current topic of most common interest, globally, for all the religion followers, about the “Corona Pandemic", a deadly disease that has taken a great toll of life in the world, by stride, affecting the populations of all religions, irrespective of caste or creed, colour or race, young, juvenile or old , male or a female, with no discrimination.

In other times, the slightest hint on any expected fury of the natural disaster, like floods, typhoons, tsunamis, earthquakes or any calamity ,which could, or most likely become a threat to human lives or his property , it used to be good enough a reason for the otherwise diverse communities to gather unitedly and pray Gods, offer “havans and yagnas “ in the temples, religious places or anywhere, with the sole objectives and hopes of salvation by their respective God’s, from the nature’s fury, for their solace and care , and the turn of time would heal all the worries.

This time it makes me wonderstruck today that during the current Corona Pandemic and a continued havoc/disaster when the lives of the entire humanity on the planet earth is threatened and has put the human beings into the uncertainty of living none- the less ,of their properties and belongings , no such community “hawans” or “yagnas” are heard to have been planned or being performed?.

Is it a self realisation or stage of self dependence, Atmanirbharta. ..God knows...!

On the contrary, the great thrones of faith and religious dependency- the temples, the churches, the gurudwaras or the mosques and the mausoleums , are closed for offering prayers or begging for lives, and the followers even do not get entry to these religious places nor the “so called” dharmgurus, swamy’s or sadhus have visibly come forward ,so far to ,show their strength, charisma and their direct proximity with God’s in defending humanity.

Strange enough but true ,the Gods too are nowhere to be seen, where are they hiding these days?

For a century of runs by their favourite cricketers in a world cup or a test match the people will perform hawans, or for a favourite politician’s to win an election, the yagnas are performed, is a quote here for example , to probe the sudden silence/ pandemonium this time by any section of the society for such a devastating event that perishes the human life pandemically?

The question haunts me every time I think of the deadliest tragedies caused by Corona, and with no solace or the end to its dreadfulness seen even in near future. There is no such religious activity being performed in homes or in communities, in the temples or elsewhere?

Is it a threat above the level of control by the Godd or the demigods OR the people’s have lost their faith in Gods, who too might have gone into hiding?

Can anybody throw some logic on this apprehension?

The believers of the religions pour their lifetime earnings, as per their capacity or even beyond, on the temples or on the Gods for their faiths especially during such happenings.

The temples in India, are so rich that they can run a parallel economy and the country is crying for economic crisis...

The Management bodies and Trustees of these “so called” at least 10 richest temples,in India (https://www.indiatoday.in/fyi/story/siddhivinayak-hundi-rich-temple-india-demonetisation-352322-2016-11-16), are advised to come forward with a chunk of their collections as offerings , in cash or valuables, like gold and jewellery for the cause of humanity , for the welfare of the devotees for their continued faith in these temples and donate in regularising the country’s sinking economy.
